The firm has extensive experience litigating real estate matters. Our regular areas of representation include: title insurance claims, title defect and encumbrance resolution, adverse possession, boundary line disputes, lien priority challenges, and legal description reformation.
The firm’s litigation group has experience in both state and federal court successfully defending claims made under consumer protection laws such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Wisconsin Consumer Act, and Wisconsin’s Deceptive Trades Practices Act. The firm also regularly defends common law claims such as breach of contract, fraud in the inducement and misrepresentation.
The firm has a broad range of experience in insurance defense litigation, representing both our clients and their insureds in defense of either first-party or third party policy claims. The firm handles a variety of matters relating to insurance coverage, breach of contract, bad faith and subrogation.
In addition to circuit or trial court practice, the firm represents its clients before state and federal appellate courts. This representation includes cases the firm has managed prior to an appeal.
